The Brief
Hope House is the ancestral home of the owner Paul Hageman. Although it had fallen into disrepair in recent times, he had a vision to re-create it as a boutique hotel in the heart of this famous Oxfordshire town and give visitors a spectacular and unique choice of accommodation.
We had a number of constraints with the layout of the building and its listed status. The brief was to create 3 suites of unique accommodation that would appeal to the discerning traveler. The budget was not exhaustive, so we had to be creative in our solutions!
The Result
We created 3 schemes to reflect the style and character of the different floors in the building. The Blenheim on the ground floor had low ceiling in parts of it, and beautiful carved wooden panels on some of the walls. We created a warm opulent scheme of gold and reds, with a mix of antiques from the family home with newer pieces. The Churchill had large airy rooms, so we chose a dramatic monochrome palette. The Marlborough had lower ceilings and smaller windows so we combined soft green and creams to create an inviting palette
Our Client's Comments
The JTI team really captured the essence of the building, and have given us a style that is very ‘Hope House’. I couldn’t have done it without you.
