Case study 1 - Giving a modern twist to
a period development

The brief

To put together three different schemes for a newly refurbished and extended period property.  The client wanted to attract professional couples or sharers, and to command a premium rent in a sought after area in the city.  They asked for the schemes to be sympathetic to a period style property, but at the same time appeal to a young target market.

The result

We used a mix of traditional fabrics and finishes to reflect the age of the property, but used them in a contemporary manner, such as tweed headboards, modern swivel chairs covered in contrasting woven fabrics, wool mix fabrics on contemporary sofas with contrasting piping.  All the bedrooms contained storage under the beds and plenty of drawer space.
